We have so many children and youth ready for First Communion this year, we will have TWO First Communion class sessions. What a great problem to have. Currently, there are 13 children whose parents have said they are ready, plus at least another 7 children whose parents will also receive a letter inviting them to pray about participating.
First Communion preparation consists of two classes on two different days. The first class is focused on the bread and its meaning. The second class is focused on the wine and its meaning. A parent or other adult relative attends both classes together with his or her child.
All classes will be in the Fellowship Hall of the Blanchardville Site
Classes are usually about 1 ½ hours each and involve a variety of activities to help all ages and learning styles begin to understand the mystery and blessing of Holy Communion. With potentially larger classes, I added a bit more time to the schedule.
Class 1 – Bread Sunday, September 16 1 pm – 3 pm
Class 2 – Wine Sunday, September 23 noon – 2 pm
Class 1 – Bread Saturday, October 13 10 am – noon
Class 2 – Wine Saturday, October 20 noon – 2 pm
Please contact Pastor Michelle to sign up for the classes that work best for your schedule. Preferably, each session will have no more than 10 students per class.
